Early Intervention Screening

All students are screened using the The Early Screening Inventory-Third Edition. Families will complete a caregiver questionnaire prior to the screening. The purpose of the screening is to determine if the concerns present a risk to learning and to refer for a formal evaluation if needed. Screenings are not an evaluation and are not used to determine eligibility for special education.

Trauma-informed Approach
A trauma-sensitive school is one in which all students feel safe, welcomed, and supported and where addressing trauma's impact on learning on a school-wide basis is at the center of its educational mission.
Key components of TIPP
- Building strong relationships with Staff and Students
- Using a Strengths Based Approach with students
- Building opportunities for students to have successful moments to foster increased self esteem and self confidence.
- Schools should partner closely with families to support students with individual care based on the needs of the student.
This approach helps ALL students regardless of previous experiences.
